The Complete Project:

The Design

A service without equal

Designing a conservatory goes far beyond the drawing board or colour brochure. It’s about feel and understanding for the project. Which is why our years of experience help us to interpret your ideas, our designers will talk you through your proposed conservatory, and they will discuss the design from both a practical and aesthetic point of view. There are many things to consider, including the position of the conservatory, and whether any alterations need to be made to the existing structure of your home. Access to the garden from the conservatory is an important point to discuss, as is the type and finish and level to the floor. You will also need to decide on the conservatory material and on the finish to the base walls, should they be featured bricks or rendered to blend whenever possible to the style of your property. With our wide range of styles, materials and design philosophy we can create conservatories in keeping with the architecture of every period.

Window options

Where possible we would recommend the design echoes or at least complements the windows of the house. Traditional rectangular panes complement Victorian or Regency styles while different combinations of smaller panes utilising Georgian bars are reminiscent of sash windows. The graceful curves of Romanesque windows are very versatile whist Gothic arches is a more whimsical option. Decorative fanlights can provide a very distinctive and personalised feature to your conservatory.

Door and window details

Conservatories can have either double or single doors or a combination of both. Whilst retaining the features of the chosen window design can also provide the base for an elegant lunette above. As with the windows the doors are glazed with toughened safety glass, ensuring optimum thermal and sound insulation. Windows and doors are internally beaded for additional security. Both include the very latest in security hardware. multi-point locking, shoot bolts, with deadlocks to BS standard. Opening fanlights have a secure night vent opening position as standard.

Special features

Ridge cresting and finials are distinctive features of your conservatory and are drawn from original Victorian designs. Choose from our range to give that touch of individuality. The gutters are classic ogee style and can be complimented by dentil mouldings to embellish the classical Victorian and Edwardian appearance.

Considerations

Will it look right? Will the ridge fit under a low window? Which window design would be most appropriate? Should all the fanlights open? Does it matter about equal sight lines? Should I choose brick or a rendered finish to the base walls? What about blinds? How should my conservatory be best heated so that it may be used all year round? All these questions, which no brochure can answer, are best discussed with a qualified designer on site.
