Our design challenge was to provide a room which combined the barn, the Oast and the cottage, to this substantial property in Hildenborough.

The barn contained the living room with the owners study in the Oast, and the cottage was converted to provide a cinema room and gym.

The design utilised two structural box gutters, to both the barn wall and the cottage roof, to equalise the roof heights and take away the rainwater. Hardwood frames were stained to match the existing windows and a foiled aluminium roof which matched the frames, provided a low maintenance alternative to hardwood. The end of the conservatory was sculptured around the radius of the Oast building.
